FOTD- Primark style!

By Primark style I mean- "Oh look, I used 2 Primark products at the same time!"

L'Oreal Telescopic mascara
Everyday minerals "Weekend getaway" blush.

Band of Bold blue chunky eye pencil and some carazy liquid lipstick... (Onto the story I know you've been waiting for..! Or you know, an insanely long ramble...)

Primark had a load more make up products in the store than last time I went, although for some strange reason they seem to have 99 of each product... Which I feel is a little OTT! Anyway, this rather snazzy lipstick lookalike caught my eye as it sat prettily in it's packaging, despite the fact it looks a little like something that a 7 year old would own

Anyway, I bought it, and once at home ripped (hence why you don't have any pictures of it..) off the packaging to quickly try it out.. Oh dear. I read on the back of the annoying plasticky thing they used to trap the lipstick that you twist the base for the liquid lipstick to come to the top.

Now let me explain, the top is made out of something resembling the material that they put on some (only the special ones'!) teddy's noses.. it may feel soft on the bear's nose.. not so much on lips! Obviously I twisted the thing too much- NOTHING WAS COMING OUT!- and so I ended up with a hysterically large amount of this rather thick "liquid" lipstick on the top of the weird flocked tip, and let me tell you, once it was on my lips (which took some doing, the applicator is useless, the lipstick just smooshes into it, instead of onto my lips! and then smudges and drags it's way across..) I looked like a 5 year old who's got into her mum's makeup...  Or a clown.. The applicator is crap on this thing, rubbish at smooth application, it drags, it leaves all product on one side of your lips, and beyond the lip line border... Pah. I'll have to try and recreate the situation and take a picture for you ;)

I have however discovered a way to use it without looking like a clown, you got just the watered down version in the above picture, where I used a little of the lipstick and attacked it with a lipbrush of vaseline, but it is possible to use it as a proper lipstick (albeit still with a little vaseline attacking..)

Primark's make up is worth buying purely for the entertainment it gives!

OOTD

Please excuse the whiteness of my general appearance, particularly my vampire legs ;) I was between fake tan "cycles" (you know the one I mean..where you've done the mega exfoliate to get rid of any build up and haven't got round to putting it on again.. Oh, that's just me that's lazy about that..)

I bought this dress just last week from New Look for the amazing price of...... £10. I couldn't believe it! Frustrating really, I was only looking as I was being good, but I couldn't exactly put it back at that price could I?!

I just love everything about it.. The feel of it, the fit, the style, I think it's about as flattering as any item of clothing gets! I actually want to live in it.

Do you have a particular live-in-it dress?! Was it £10 from New look? ;)

Sunny days!

I love the summer, I do.

I like to wear floaty skirts and dresses and eat ice cream, wear brighter eyeshadow, go out without a coat... The one thing I do not like about summer is the insane heat. It zaps all of my energy and creativity and so it's something that on the hotter days (like today!) keeps me inside, on a day like today I may aswell be inside, because being outside will only mean that I don't get anything done all day, because I can barely move ;)

Until it cools down at least a little, you can expect rambly disjointed posts from me!

Like this one...

My new addiction to Refreshers...

... An odd post, but having forgotten about these gorgeous fruity sweets for many years myself I thought others may have done the same!

I was recently told that due to health reasons I needed to cut out all caffeine from my diet, which unfortunately, whichever way I tried to wiggle out of it (and I really did!) still meant chocolate. I knew that if this was to be successful I needed to have plenty in the way of alternatives around!

Me and the mothership popped down to the shop (I drove, and reversed... in a place where there were walls... Oooh!) and I toddled round looking for anything that took my fancy... Refreshers popped out me almost immediately, with their gorgeous sparkly packaging and fizzy flavour.

In general I'm not really one for sweets, I don't like the aftertaste they leave, or the smell of ones like Haribo (apart from Strawbs, which are heavenly and oh-so addictive!) so I tend to avoid them.

Refreshers are something else though.. Sweet enough to taste nicely unhealthy their fresh fruit flavours are wonderful and the fizz makes them stand out from the usual sweet crowd. And at just 30p (here at least!) a tube, they're bargainous tooo!

I encourage you to rediscover the wonder of Refreshers, which, of course now have only natural flavours and colourings (honestly, what is WRONG with these people?! I know they're unhealthy, that's why I'm eating them!).

Non- existent NOTD....

You know those days where you just can't find a polish that you like once it's on, or can't decide on what to do on top of it, or just generally a BLAH nail day? I'm having one of those ;)

I must've gone through at least 4 different colours this afternoon and none of them look right today. Hopefully I'll have a NOTD up for you tomorrow, if I can stop being so indecisive and if my polishes start looking right on my nails!

OOTD

I live in leggings, I love them, they're good for keeping you the right temperature, they're comfortable, they don't misbehave and ladder like tights do and well, they're just amazing. I would highly recommend George at Asda's leggings, £5 each and the best quality ones that I've ever had, they wash really well, don't bobble or stretch when you're wearing them and they're just magical really! /crazy love for leggings time.

Dress was from Dorothy Perkins and the necklace too!

Love leggings? Or are you a mainly tights/bare legged girl?!

Barry M... A dizzy moment!

The other day I was wondering why I'd never bought a Barry M nail polish and really couldn't think of any reason...

The colours attract me, the prices are great and yet for some reason it's never been a brand I've tried out!

I went to a different Boots to my usual at the weekend and couldn't see a stand anywhere, and when I asked was told they didn't stock it.. I left thinking that that particular Boots was rubbish and I wouldn't bother going there again, only to discover today that my usual Boots don't sell it either! Which would explain why I've never bought any before ;)

It was only whilst writing this post that I remembered that the last time I'd seen a big Barry M display had been in a Superdrug... Oops! ;)

Next time then! Haha!

What was your last/best make up related dizzy moment?!
