NYX Tea Rose lipstick/FOTD

Face-
 ELF all over cover stick
Clarins' True Radiance foundation (003, Soft Ivory)
ELF studio blush in Candid Coral

Eyes-
ELF cream eyeliner in Copper
Wild Curls mascara

Lips-
NYX round lipstick in Tea Rose

This was my first NYX lipstick and I'm really pleased with it, the texture is wonderful, smooth and silky but not too slippy with pretty decent staying power. Plus there's no cheap lipstick smell/taste! I'm looking into different shades now, so if you've got any personal favourites that you'd recommend then please do let me know!

FOTD, new eyeshadows

Face-

Everyday minerals concealer, intensive fair & Aussie Perk Me Up.
Everyday minerals base, fair medium, matte.
MUA blusher- shade 1.

Eyes-

GOSH eyeshadow base
New Saffron palette (I'm an addict, picture below)
L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara

Lips-

MUA lipgloss- shade 3

I was looking for some new eyeshadows at the end of last month, and with it being the end of the month the budget was tight! I think this particular palette cost me about £5, with 27 colours. It's a bit of an odd one, as when I first got it it was all (off-puttingly!) shimmery, but as you can see on the pictures, (especially the middle "box" at the top) it becomes a lot more matte once you get past the top layer as it were, which makes them much more wearable.

Colour pay off is impressive, especially when applied with a wet brush, fall out's not great, so again, using them foiled is the way to avoid masses of shimmer on your cheeks (this is something that lessens once you've used the top layer of the colour anyway). These are meant to be cream eyeshadows, but they're not too creamy in my view, which is good, I'm not a huge fan of cream eyeshadows if I'm honest..

For this particular look I used the two pinks at the top left, the top one for all over, the bottom one for crease, and then the purple (which is more of an indigo) in the bottom left hand corner box, middle shadow.. If that makes any sense ;)

Have you been buying new shadows recently... What are they?!

FOTD- Primark style!

By Primark style I mean- "Oh look, I used 2 Primark products at the same time!"

L'Oreal Telescopic mascara
Everyday minerals "Weekend getaway" blush.

Band of Bold blue chunky eye pencil and some carazy liquid lipstick... (Onto the story I know you've been waiting for..! Or you know, an insanely long ramble...)

Primark had a load more make up products in the store than last time I went, although for some strange reason they seem to have 99 of each product... Which I feel is a little OTT! Anyway, this rather snazzy lipstick lookalike caught my eye as it sat prettily in it's packaging, despite the fact it looks a little like something that a 7 year old would own

Anyway, I bought it, and once at home ripped (hence why you don't have any pictures of it..) off the packaging to quickly try it out.. Oh dear. I read on the back of the annoying plasticky thing they used to trap the lipstick that you twist the base for the liquid lipstick to come to the top.

Now let me explain, the top is made out of something resembling the material that they put on some (only the special ones'!) teddy's noses.. it may feel soft on the bear's nose.. not so much on lips! Obviously I twisted the thing too much- NOTHING WAS COMING OUT!- and so I ended up with a hysterically large amount of this rather thick "liquid" lipstick on the top of the weird flocked tip, and let me tell you, once it was on my lips (which took some doing, the applicator is useless, the lipstick just smooshes into it, instead of onto my lips! and then smudges and drags it's way across..) I looked like a 5 year old who's got into her mum's makeup...  Or a clown.. The applicator is crap on this thing, rubbish at smooth application, it drags, it leaves all product on one side of your lips, and beyond the lip line border... Pah. I'll have to try and recreate the situation and take a picture for you ;)

I have however discovered a way to use it without looking like a clown, you got just the watered down version in the above picture, where I used a little of the lipstick and attacked it with a lipbrush of vaseline, but it is possible to use it as a proper lipstick (albeit still with a little vaseline attacking..)

Primark's make up is worth buying purely for the entertainment it gives!

MUA FOTD/EOTD

I didn't take these in the dark :P but to get the best picture of the colours I had to use the flash!

This is what I used....

The little pots of eye shadow are samples from fyrinnae in colours Montalivet- I LOVE this, and Choco cake mix. Plus I used Pixie Epoxy too, which gives a really intense foiled look to the shadows without water.

I also used a gel liner from the all natural face in Swiss Chocolate on my upper lid.

I used the MUA glitter eyeliner on my lower lash line with a bit of choco cake mix on top so it looked less like explosion in the glitter factory! I really like this with something layered on top :)

MUA eyeshadow shade 16 as my highlight- really like this, smooth and lovely.

MUA blusher in shade 1- not overly keen on this.. it has gold spangly sparkles in... I don't like that.

And MUA lippy in shade 6 plus lipgloss in shade 3 on top. Pretty rubbish staying power from the lipstick though!
